Day 6: Blue Eye Spring – Isak Winery - Butrint – Sarande
Gjirokaster Blue Eye, 45min
The Blue Eye is a resurgence of spring water that emerges from the depths at a pressure of nearly 10 m3 per second and gives the impression of forming a blue eye. Surrounded by the forest, this place is a peaceful marvel to recharge one's batteries.
Blue Eye Isak winery, 25min
Before we reach Saranda, we will have the opportunity to visit Isak Winery, located in Vrion. This small vineyard will offer us a great experience in tours of wine tasting.
Isak Winery Butrint, 45min
The archaeological site of Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992, is an ancient open-air city that bears witness to centuries of human occupation, as the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Venetians and Ottomans successively occupied the site! Moreover, did you know that Racine referred to Butrint in his work Andromache? The Lion Gate is well hidden, but still standing!
Butrint Sarande, 25min
Departure for Saranda, a seaside town opposite the island of Corfu. Saranda is fortunate to be located in one of the most beautiful regions of Albania, the Albanian Riviera. This town was known in ancient times as Onhezmi and its small port was a communication bridge between Corfu and the Epirotes tribes. Visit of the city, walk along the seaside and the many terraces on the seafront.
