The archaeological site of Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992, is an ancient open-air city that bears witness to centuries of human occupation, as the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Venetians and Ottomans successively occupied the site ! Moreover, did you know that Racine referred to Butrint in his work Andromache? The Lion Gate is well hidden, but still standing !
Butrint to Ksamil, 10 min
This village was once famous for its olive and citrus fruit fields and today welcomes visitors with its beautiful beaches. Famous for its turquoise water and its four small islands, the beach of Ksamil faces the Greek island of Corfu. If its islands in the Ionian Sea are accessible by swimming, pedal boats are also available for hire to visit the surrounding area.
Ksamil to Sarandë, 25 min
In the afternoon we will drive on the coastal city of Saranda, where we can enjoy the promenade of the city and the several fish restaurants.
